I'm working on a story in which one character owns a small (10-15 employees) company that sells (and maybe installs and upgrades, etc.) some product of computer programming. But I'm stuck for specific ideas. I want the company to be modestly profitable and pretty secure--a small lucrative niche that the big boys wouldn't bother trying to take over.
Like providing software to ... chiropractors offices, say, or law libraries or something. But I want a -better- idea!
Any help? What's a profitable coding niche?
Is it set in the present day, the near future or the far future?
